Courtney started dancing at Just Gotta Dance at the age of ten, taking classes in jazz. At the age of twelve Courtney moved to Napa and became a Pop Warner cheerleader. She cheered with Pop Warner for three years and made it to nationals twice; her team won the national title in 2001.

Courtney attended Vintage High School, where she continued her cheerleading; she made the Varsity cheer team as a sophomore. The team went undefeated that year and received many titles. Courtney made the team again her junior year, but soon realized cheerleading was not her true passion.

Courtney also danced in high school through the Vintage dance program for four years. She was voted president of the dance program. After graduating high school, she attended beauty school at Le Melange in Napa and is now a successful hair stylist at the Hair Cellar in Napa.

She has been dancing at Academy of Danse since 2006 and has studied various fields of dance such as hip-hop, jazz, contemporary, modern, tap, and ballet. Courtney began teaching two hip-hop classes at Academy of Danse in 2008. Since then she has helped expand the hip-hop program at Academy of Danse which now offers five different levels. Courtney even had the privilege of mentoring a high school student from Slovakia; introducing her to hip hop for the first time.

Courtney now teaches jazz at Academy of Danse as well as hip-hop. Courtney became a coach for the Academy of Danse Competition Company in 2012 choreographing hip-hop, jazz, and pom. Courtney’s Choreography took a platinum award in 2014. And in 2017 Courtney’s success continued when her pom routine took first place overall with platinum. This past season Courtney’s jazz also took first place overall with platinum.

Courtney enjoys teaching hip-hop and jazz as well as choreographing for the competition company and being a coach. She is excited to continue watching her students grow!
