Holly King has been dancing at the Academy of Danse since the age of three. She started as a tiny tot and has loved it ever since. During her time as a student, Holly participated in ballet, pointe, jazz, and tap classes. She was on the competition team for five years and a student teacher for four. While on the Academy of Danse Competition Team, Holly performed in Disneyland’s Magic Music Days in 2006. For the past twelve years, Holly has been teaching a variety of Parks and Recreational dance classes. She taught classes at Scientopia and NVLA in movement and ballet. This is Holly’s twelfth year teaching at the Academy of Danse. The most rewarding part about teaching dance for Holly is to see how much her students learn and grow each year. She takes great pride in watching her students develop their talents over time.

Holly has always had a passion for dancing and for teaching. She started her higher education straight out of high school at the Napa Junior College and completed her Associate of Arts degree in General Education. In the fall of 2004, she transferred to Sonoma State University where she received her Bachelor of Arts in Liberal Studies. In the fall of 2006, she started the teaching credential program at Dominican University and graduated from this program in the spring of 2007. In May of 2011, Holly completed her Master of Arts in Education with an emphasis in reading.

In September of 2007, Holly was hired to teach second and third grade at Canyon Oaks Elementary School in American Canyon. Since then she has taught multiple grades, ranging from kindergarten to fifth grade. She now teaches second grade at Browns Valley Elementary School in her twelfth year of teaching elementary school.

Holly has enjoyed the past 32 years she has spent at the Academy of Danse, and looks forward to the coming year.
